The following is an entry for a contest. Flourish & Thrive Academy Multiply Your Profits Where are you in your jewelry business now? Even though I've been casually making macrame for over a year and a half, I feel closer to the 'just starting out' level of entrepreneurship. I'm just now starting to get serious about my passions and am branching out and experimenting with a variety of materials. When I feel that what I've made is close-to-perfect enough to sell, I create an Etsy listing for it and try to promote it as well as I can (without an advertising budget). I do a lot of research online and that is how I found your site. What’s holding you back in your business and your life? Honestly, finances hold me back quite a bit. If I had a greater pool from which to draw (or any), I'd be able to promote what I have made and promote myself a bit more as far as what makes me different from other jewelry designers. Gettin' Knotty

I've been working with macrame - knots, mainly - for over two years. I first learned macrame in high school and revisited it to work with Bit by Bit. I'm fortunate that I am now going to be able to make bracelets for Freedom's Song Wolf Rescue, as Knot By Knot Etc. Here's a photo of what the bracelets look like I'm excited to be once again working alongside a nonprofit to make and sell items for their benefit. How much would you pay for this bracelet?

http://knotbyknotetc.wordpress.com/2014/10/18/a-birthday-present/ As much as I loathe to admit it, Thursday was my thirtieth birthday {yikes!}. An early birthday present was the ability to rent a ‘booth’ (more of an end-cap) at a local bookstore, where I will now sell my work! Setting up a retail display is a lot of hard work and money, especially when you’ve never done it before and don’t have anything needed! Thankfully, my husband has begun woodworking as a hobby, and so has a table saw and some other things that are going to help out a ton in getting halfway-decent-looking displays made. The ‘booth’ is a 2′ wide by 8′ tall piece of pegboard, and there are some ideas floating around out there on how to decorate pegboard. Unfortunately, a lot of those ideas include permanent modifications, like painting, which I will be unable to do.
